Three long years have passed after the postponed UEFA Euro 2020 tournament (thanks a lot, COVID), and we are back in action with another installment of the European football feast – UEFA Euro 2024! Surely, there will be a lot of goals, a lot of shouting, a lot of happy fans jumping around in their seats both within the stadium and in front of their TVs.
If you are one of those watching this spectacle at home, make sure not to miss any goals and other key moments. Continue on your way to the goal line together with us as we explain everything there is to know about UEFA Euro 2024 and how to watch it comfortably and without any hiccups.
Euros 2024 Host
The last European championship was scattered all over Europe – from Azerbaijan to Spain. This time, though, it is hosted in a single country that proved itself in the 2006 FIFA World Cup – Germany. Widely regarded as one of the best championships of all time (it also introduced the first fan fest, how cool is that?), it comes as no surprise that the European championship fell into the hands of Germans. With a variety of large stadiums that can accommodate tens of thousands of fans, it is a great country to host the UEFA Euro 2024. And let’s not even start on how obsessed the Deutsch are with football…
The biggest stadium where the games will take place is the Olympiastadion in the capital city of Berlin. Although not the biggest football stadium in Europe, it still is an impressive one. The Euro trophy will be held above the winners’ heads in the same stadium, too.
Euro 2024 Dates
When does the Euro 2024 start, you may wonder. The UEFA Euro 2024 starts on the 14th of June, 21:00 CEST (UTC+2), with the host Germany facing off against Scotland. Can we have a better opening game for the Euros 2024? Doubtful.
The group stage will take place from the opening day until the 26th of June. Afterward, the teams will have a short break lasting three days, and the knockout stage will begin on the 29th of June. This play offs stage will be finished with the final game that will take place on the 14th of July. What does this UEFA Euro 2024 schedule imply? A month full of football!
In a nutshell, the key moments are these:
- Group stage: 14th of June - 26th of June
- Euro 2024 play-off dates: 29th of June - 10th of July
- UEFA Euro final 2024: 14th of July
