Editorial Policy

1. Our Mission

Mysterium VPN publishes reports, guides, and analyses about internet censorship, VPN usage, government policy, and restrictions on internet rights.

Our mission is to help readers understand what is happening online, how it affects them, and what practical steps they can take to protect access, privacy, and security. We stand for decentralization and believe that we should take back the Internet.

The Editorial Policy in question applies to all content that is published under the Mysterium VPN Blog only.

2. Editorial Policy

Editorial decisions at Mysterium VPN are made independently. Commercial relationships do not determine what we cover, how we frame issues, or what conclusions we reach.

3. Editorial Standards and Process

We hold our content to high standards of accuracy, clarity, and fairness. We treat factual claims as something to be verified, not assumed. We aim to communicate in a way that is understandable to non-experts while remaining technically and legally precise.

When a topic involves debate or contested claims, we provide context and make it clear what is known, what is uncertain, and what is interpretation or opinion.

Our content is created by human writers, supported by editors, contributors, and a research team. The process typically begins with topic selection based on relevance and public interest, followed by structured research and drafting.

We may use AI tools to support parts of the editorial workflow, such as tracking and finding topics, improving readability, summarizing publicly available material, or assisting with language edits.

However, AI does not replace human responsibility. A human writer and editor remain accountable for the final content, including the accuracy of factual claims, the framing of sensitive topics, and the decision of what to publish. We do not publish AI-generated content without human review and verification.

4. Research Principles

Our research team consists of experts who use ethical hacking and years of experience browsing the darker corners of the Internet to find and safely disclose any potential vulnerabilities, leaks or new cybersecurity threats as soon as they appear.

We only use legal and ethical means of acquiring information, with a focus on proof so that our research and information are accurate.

5. Sources and Fact-Checking

We prioritize credible sources and original documentation whenever possible, including laws, regulations, court filings, official statements, platform policies, reputable investigative reporting, and established research.

We add sources when we quote significant statistics, numbers, or opinions. If a specific piece of research was not conducted by our own research team, we quote the source for it, keeping the origin of information transparent.

Our editors review articles for accuracy, consistency, and clarity before publication. When a claim depends on fast-changing circumstances, such as policy enforcement, restrictions, or bans, we aim to confirm details through multiple reliable sources.

6. Expertise and Accountability

News and opinion pieces are produced by a team of experts who work in the fields connected to privacy, VPN usage, digital security, and internet governance. We aim to match topics with writers who have practical or professional experience in the subject matter.

When an article is an opinion, it is presented as analysis or viewpoint rather than straight reporting, and the author is accountable for the argument and evidence used to support it.
