Secure Your WhatsApp Account

Using a WhatsApp VPN improves your privacy, but it’s not a complete shield. For full protection, adopt these secure messaging practices:

Strengthen Your Account Security

• Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of protection to your account.
• Turn on security notifications to get alerts when a contact’s security code changes.
• Regularly verify that end-to-end encryption is active for your chats by checking encryption codes with your contacts.

Control Message Visibility

• Use the disappearing messages feature for sensitive conversations to ensure messages are automatically deleted after a set period.
• Avoid using cloud backups if possible, as these are not end-to-end encrypted by default. If backups are necessary, ensure they are encrypted.

Stay Cautious in Chats

• Do not share personal or sensitive information in group chats, as they are more vulnerable to leaks.
• Be cautious with links and attachments—avoid opening anything suspicious to prevent malware infections.
• Watch for impersonation attempts. If someone requests money or sensitive information, verify their identity using a different communication method, such as a phone call or email.

By following these tips alongside using a secure WhatsApp VPN like Mysterium, you can communicate more safely and maintain greater control over your privacy.
